What You Can Do to Stay Healthy...
Stay informed. Visit http://www.cdc.gov for the most up to date information. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) update their website regularly as information becomes available.
Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. If you have a fever, do not return to work or school until 24 hours after the fever has resolved.
The health of our employees and our clients is of paramount importance to Maredith Management. Based on our communications with the Charles County Health Department and the CDC we are strongly encouraging all of our employees with symptoms of influenza to stay home during their period of illness and recuperation, when they are potentially infectious to others. This is an evolving situation and recommendations may change as more information becomes available. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we may be operating without the aid of the entire Maredith Team at times as we work through this. We also want to thank you for your help in spreading this critical message about the importance of prevention.
